Lovachora is a remote nature destination in Kanaighat Upazila of Sylhet District, close to Bangladesh’s northeastern border and the foothills of the Khasi–Jaintia hills. The area is known for the Lova River, clear mountain-fed water, rocky riverbanks, green hills, an old tea estate and a historic suspension bridge. According to the local government portal, Lovachora is about 9 km from Kanaighat Upazila headquarters and can be reached by road or river, although the river route is generally easier because much of the local road is unpaved. A 2025 Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha report describes the boat journey from Kanaighat as taking about an hour. The monsoon and post-monsoon period usually brings the most dramatic greenery and river scenery. Visitors should remain on the Bangladesh side of the border, avoid restricted areas and plan to return during daylight.

Access notes: From Sylhet city, the most practical route is to travel by road to Kanaighat Sadar and then continue by boat towards Lovachora. The local-government tourism portal places Lovachora about 9 km from Kanaighat headquarters and notes that much of the final road is unpaved, making river access easier. A 2025 BSS report describes the boat section as taking roughly one hour. Some walking over uneven, rocky or muddy ground is required after arrival.
